It seemed time to let go of my current profile and start fresh. My name is Micheal Eric Doryu Olsen. I recently participated in Jukai and was given the dharna name of Doryu (grounded flow) by my teacher, Genpo Roshi. I am so thankful for the buddha, sangha, and dharma. I am so happy that Roshi has shown so much compassion to the world and the nature of it.  I have dedicated much time lately to my practice. I've learned that sitting is a pleasure at this point and I yearn to do it often.

I am married to a beautiful soul named Amber. I have three loving children, Ariel, Ashlie, and Dayvid. They have all taught me so much about life and who I am. Everyday I am reminded how they are my true guru's in life and the journey is truly the adventure.

I am a lover of music in some of the weirdest senses. I can't explain what I like because it varies so much and changes almost minute by minute. My mood, the people I am around, and what I am doing determines a lot of what I pick. I am determined to have the largest legal collection of MP3's around. I have 1 terabyte in the process of being compiled and I will be ramping up to add 3 more terabytes in the next year, just for music. So when it comes to genre, range, record lable, new artist, classic, old soul, and so forth. I feel it all. I've learned that music is such a wonderful art form that displays emotion and journey in a very raw and tocuhing way. All of it.

Movies are great,  I love to go to the theater and catch all the new stuff. I like having a collection at home, but not on my computer. I know, it's weird and all. I like having the DVDs or the Blue-Rays there for some reason. I guess that's just me.

I am learning to play baseball with Dayvid and it has become something exciting and fun for us to do. I am working with my ex wife and the courts to try and balanace issues out so Dayvid can have a rich and full life with both of his parents. I look forward to many moments with him. We went camping recently and meditated on top of a hill with nature all around us. It was refreshing.

Ariel and Ashlie are young women now. They are 17 and soon to be 16 and they know who they are and what they want. I find myself working with them more as adults now and a little less like my baby girls. It is sad at times, but I rejoice in the adventures and future we share. They are compassionate souls and share their love with all of our family.

Amber has rejuvinated her insights to life. She is picking up some long lost peices and searching for herself. I love her so much and I fully realize in this day and age, it is hard to find someone that you can be with forever, and know it before the forever is no longer forever. She is a beautiful woman full of determination and fire.

We are currently living in Orem, UT. We rent our little cottage and love it. They want to sell it to us, but they are still asking way too much for it. My sister, Katie, will help with that shortly. She works as a realtor.

Mom and dad are doing well. they have their normal issues, but somewhere in the mist of it all, I am still learning a great deal about life from them. My dad remains my hero and he always will be. He may never understand why, but that is okay, I know why.
